Obituary of Martha Elena Gonzalez Delgado

Martha Elena Gonzalez Delgado, 50 of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Martha was a devoted mother and wife. She worked hard in school to become a surgical technician to provide for her two daughters.  Martha enjoyed her career where she worked at Knapp medical center in Weslaco. Martha lived in the Los Fresnos area all her life and played in the high school band/colorguard, and was proud of that fact. Martha was a graduate of Los Fresnos High School class of 1987. Martha also worked at Bealls and Walmart before she went to school to become a surgical tech. Martha was married to David Delgado and had two step-sons and a step-daughter through marriage to Mr. Delgado. Martha is survived by her two daughters, mother, three sisters and a brother. Martha's smile would light up the room and brighten anyone's day.

Martha was loved by her family and friends and she loved them as well. Martha was a true blessing to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Aristeo Gonzalez.

Martha is survived by her loving husband, David Delgado; 2 daughters, Sammantha Galarza and Alondra Vasquez; 3 stepchildren, Ariel Daniela Delgado, David Michael Delgado, and Victor Manuel Delgado; grandson, Raul Galarza III “RG III”; her mother, Agripina Gonzalez; and 4 siblings, Lourdes Camero, Lupita Aguirre, Jessica Gonzalez, and Christopher Gonzalez.

Visitation will begin Monday, September 23, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with burial to follow at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas.
