Obituary of Ernesto Canales Martinez

Ernesto Canales Martinez, 58, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019, in Harlingen, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Federico Martinez Sr., sister, Elva M. Rocha; and his first wife, Rosa Maria Saldana Martinez.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Matilde M. Martinez; children, Mary Garcia, Monica Rocha, Ernesto Martinez Jr., and Veronica Lee Martinez; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his mother, Olivia Canales Martinez; brothers, Federico Martinez Jr. and Jose Martinez; sisters, Hilda Ramos, Bertha Torres, Adalia Becerra, and Elida Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, September 4, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial to follow at La Paloma Cemetery in La Paloma, Texas.
