Obituary of Maria De la Luz Flores

Maria De la Luz Flores, 61, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Maria had a passion for gardening. She was a mother to all. Maria raised five children and eight grandchildren. She was a very strong and independent woman with a heart of gold. Maria was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a loving mother, a best friend, a listening ear, and a shoulder to lean on.

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Jose Angel Flores; and brother, Jose Angel Flores Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jessica Hernandez, Mandy Rodriguez, Joe Michael Hernandez, Rene Garcia Jr., Maria Lisa Velez, and Christy Gomez; siblings, Josie Gaytan, Gloria Barrientos, and Manuel Trevino; 30 grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin Friday, August 9, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Cremation will follow.
