Obituary of George Manuel Lopez

George Manuel Lopez, 57, of San Benito, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Our brother loved the Louisiana Saints and the State of Louisiana. He loved to travel, fish, BBQing, and spending time with family and friends. George was sociable and loved to reminisce about the past with great joy. Our beloved brother will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We have tons of great memories that will put a smile on our faces, as well as our hearts when we think of him. Special thanks to Terry Sanchez for loving and caring for our brother.

George is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Montez Lopez; father, Arturo Lopez; brother, Arturo Lopez Jr.; and great nephew, Arturo Phoenix Lopez IV.

He is survived by his daughter, Erica Nicole Lopez Edley (Jeff); grandchildren, Bronson James Edley, Caleb Matthew Edley, and Remi Rose Edley; three sisters, Yolanda Lopez, Tom Delgadillo (J.D.), and Gracie Lopez; two brothers, Desi Lopez and John Lopez (Jennifer); Shelby James Arabie, who he considered as a brother; and several loving uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and good friends.

Visitation will begin Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are John Lopez, J.D. Delgadillo, Art Lopez III, Nicholas Rodriguez, Miguel Tapia Jr., Daniel Ray Tapia, Matthew Lopez, and Jacob Lee Lopez.
