I'd like to convey our deepest and heartfelt condolences on behalf of my wife Dorothy, our children Adriana and Marco, and myself Richard Gonzalez to Maria's husband David Trentholm and the entire Gonzales Family. It seems, as though, it was just yesterday that my cousin Chune (as we affectionately called her), her siblings, other cousins of ours, and I were out in the cotton fields harvesting cotton. In spite, of the South Texas heat, everyone enjoyed each other's company as we went through those "Dog Days of Summer" during the harvest. Those were the days of lessons learned, of the fostering of young love relationships and the development of a sound work ethic for most of us. Oh, how I wish that we could've all remained kids, but that's life with all its ups and downs; and then comes the end of our sojourn through this "First Heaven." Chune has completed her pilgrimage, and has been transported to the "Third Heaven," (2 Corinthians 12:2-4; Hebrews 9:24; Luke 23:43); and, I will indeed see her once more. Therefore, our passing away is but a trifle separation for a time from our relations, but not from God Almighty, (Romans 8:35-39; Matthew 25:32; Philippians 3:20). In closing, I'll leave you with the words of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians, "We do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope," (1 Thessalonians 4:13); Chune is not dead, but rests in a peaceful sleep until our Lord Jesus Christ comes to raise her up unto life again! Amen
