Obituary of Elva Ochoa Camacho

Elva Ochoa Camacho, 86, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Elva served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of The Guadalupanas, the Healing Blanket Group, and the Novenarios Group.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rubio Camacho; parents, Severa T. and Santiago Ochoa; and grandson, Jose Raymond Camacho; and her siblings, Santiago Ochoa Jr., Isidoro Ochoa, Samuel Ochoa, Lauro Ochoa, and Abelardo de la Garza.

Elva is survived by her children, Raymond Joseph (Maria Del Refugio) Camacho, Norma (Ramiro) Alvarado, Ida C. (Enrique) Martinez, and Larry (Maria) Camacho; 16 grandchildren, Roberto (Yolanda) Camacho, Jose Luis Camacho, Catherine (Fernando) Esquivel, Sylvia Camacho, Imelda (Ricardo) Zermeno, Ramiro Alvarado Jr., Zenaida (Alex) Gonzalez, Adrian Martinez, Elva Alicia (Eric Kite) Martinez, Noah Martinez, Ida Raquel Martinez, Adelaida Martinez, Geovani Camacho, Nathaniel Camacho, Joel Camacho, and Daisy Camacho; 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Visitation will begin Monday, June 10, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with burial to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Roberto Camacho, Jose Luis Camacho, Ramiro Alvarado, Adrian Martinez, Noah Martinez, Geovani Camacho, Nathaniel Camacho, and Joel Camacho. Honorary pallbearers are Averie Colunga, Devin Alvarado, Alek Zermeno and Alanna Zermeno.
