Obituary of Raquel V. Herrera

Raquel V. Herrera, 72, of San Benito, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in Harlingen, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of El Ranchito, Texas.

Raquel is preceded in death by her parents, Salomon Valdez and Maria del Carmen Obregon; her sister, Lidia De La Garza; and a baby son, Jose Herrera Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Jose Herrera; children, Alma Herrera, Carmen (Elias) Trevino, Cirila (Rudy) Garcia, Jose (Yesmin) Herrera Jr., Elsa (Javier Monjaraz) Herrera, Juan Pablo (Brooklyn) Herrera, and Raquel (Samuel) Ramos; 29 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Maria Guerra, Gloria Herrera, Olga Cardoza, Irma Garza, and Lupita Mendez.

Visitation will begin Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will continue Friday, March 29, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow at Esparza Family Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Pablo Herrera, Jose Angel Herrera, Florentino Rangel III, Rudy Garcia Jr., Juan Monjaraz, Elias Trevino, Eric Garcia, Samuel Monjaraz, Gilberto Monjaraz, and Randy Herrera
