Obituary of Margarita Holland Torres

Margarita H. Torres, 85, of Port Isabel, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2019 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel who loved dancing and watching novellas. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas.

Margarita  was preceded in death by her Husband Aniceto “Cheto” Torres; her son Sergio Torres; parents, John and Marie Holland; two brothers: Samuel Holland and Johnny Holland Jr.; two sisters: Ester Garza and Dora Sanchez; Daughter in law Elvia Martinez Torres.

She is survived by her four loving children: Patricio Torres, Aniceto (Ana) Torres Jr., Nydia (Lalo Martinez) Torres, and Reynaldo (Naty) Torres; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St, in Port Isabel, Texas.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Patricio Torres, Aniceto Torres Jr., Reynaldo Torres, P.J. Torres, Christopher Vasquez, Jose Martinez, Aniceto Torres III, and Rodney Torres.
