Obituary of Ben V. Garza

Ben V. Garza, 67, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Ben was an avid outdoorsman who loved his family unconditionally. He was a lifelong fisherman and hunter who shared his experience and knowledge with many, many lives. He was a musician and played multiple instruments since a young age. Ben lived his life seeking joy and found no greater joy than sharing his experiences with others. He was a teacher to his friends and family and he will live on through all of the people he befriended and loved.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gregoria Garza; and father, Concepcion Garza.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Liz Fernandez; children, Sandra Binder (Nick Dixon), Jennifer Garza (Tadeo Rodriguez), and Josh Garza; his grandchildren, Drew (Little Boy), Anthony (Jelly Bean), Ferynn (Princess), Declan (Little Buddy); siblings, Gilbert Garza (Mela Garza), Delia Lopez, and Connie Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes.
