Port Isabel, TX/Arlington Heights, IL- It is with great sadness that the family of Angelita "Angie" Galvan, at the age of 56, share the news of her tragic passing on January 22, 2012. Angie has entered the Gates of Heaven to be with her GOD. Angelita "Angie was born January 1, 1956 in La Tina, TX. and raised in Port Isabel TX. where she graduated from Port Isabel High School in 1974. She resided in Des Plaines, IL since 1976 where as a devoted mother raised her 3 sons. She had recently moved to Arlington Heights, IL 2 years ago. She was an employee of Glenbrook Security Services and was the Chaplain at the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23 of Des Plaines IL. Angie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eduvijes and Inocencia Galvan; and nephew Eric Galvan, all from Port Isabel TX. She leaves behind her loving sons: Guadalupe Martinez IV of Park Ridge IL., Noe (Cortney) Corral-Galvan of Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, and Efren (Sara) Galvan of Schaumburg IL.; 5 siblings - Lorenzo (Sylvia) Galvan of Port Isabel TX., Eduvijes Galvan Jr of Jenison MI., Erlinda (Michael) Henry of Wheeling IL. Ramiro (Linda) Galvan of Jenison MI. and Robert Galvan of Port Isabel TX.; five grandchildren - Amanda and Yvette Martinez, Lily, Noe Jr. and Gianna Galvan. She is also survived by seven nephews and nieces, several aunts, uncles and numerous great-nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 from 12 noon to 4 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Committal service to follow to Yescas Cemetery in Las Yescas, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Lorenzo Galvan Jr, Michael Henry II, David Galvan, Lori A. Galvan, Jessica Galvan and Marco Bennett.
