Obituary of Peggy Ann Galloway

Peggy Ann Galloway, 86, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at her residence.

Peggy was born and raised in Berwick, Louisiana where she met and married Big Jimmy. In the early 1950’s, they moved to Texas where they eventually became the owners of Twin City Co-Op. In 1983, she established and operated the Hasta La Vista Grocery Store for 25 years. She also served on the Board of Aldermen for the city of Laguna Vista before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvah Thomas “Big Jimmy” Galloway II; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Sue Galloway; and her niece, Sue Ledet.

Peggy is survived by four children: Penny Lynn (Mark) Filter, Polly Ann Galloway, Terri Lee Galloway, and Little Jimmy Galloway; four grandchildren: John C. Cameron, Allen Thomas Galloway, James Anthony Galloway, and Thomas Galloway; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Billie (Roland) Ledet; three brothers: Alvin (Paula) Willis, Truman (Fran) Willis, and Michael (Cindy) Willis; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018, with a chapel service to begin at 3:00 p.m at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
