San Benito,TX- On Sunday, January 29, 2012, Anita Leal Delgado our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following a short illness with cancer. Anita was born on September 1, 1931 to Artemio and Francisca Vera Leal.
Anita was an avid parishioner and dedicated member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church. She was very outgoing, loved to travel, and enjoyed going to San Benito Greyhound football games. A few of her many destinations included trips to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Eagle Pass,TX. Anita always lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed and never replaced…. We love you.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Artemio and Francisca Vera Leal, brother Jesus Vera and her son ;Samuel Delgado ,daughter; Maria Norma Delgado and one great granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Perez.
Left to cherish her memory is her caring and loving husband of 62 years Julian C. Delgado; her children: Delia D. (Alfonso) Hernandez, Mary Jane (Jerry) Bejaran, Rosalinda (Rene) Alatorre, Nelda (Homer) Gonzalez and Rosemary Delgado; and her sister, Maria L. Marin. Anita is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Mass of resurrection will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Benedicts Catholic Church with burial to follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
