Obituary of Fred Nava
Fred “Freddie” Nava, 90, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, at his residence in Rio Hondo. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 5, 1928. Freddie lived most of his life in the Harlingen, Texas area and relocated to Rio Hondo, Texas from California in 1976.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Maria De Jesus Nava; step-father, Jose M. Garza; sisters, Dolores Arminda and Ana Bella; and nephew, Alfredo Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Olga Reza Nava; sisters, Maria Tienda and Juanita Garza; brothers, Jose M. Garza, Antonio N. Garza, and Andres N. Garza; and many extended family members.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Alfredo Reza, Danny Reza, David Reza, Antonio Garza, Andres N. Garza, and Jose M. Garza.
