Obituary of Vidal Cantu Jr.

Vidal Cantu Jr., 55, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Brownsville, Texas.

He was lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Vidal was employed for over 22 years with the Accounting Dept. at the Port of Brownsville.

He is preceded in death by his father, Vidal Cantu Sr.

Vidal is survived by his loving mother, Rachel Cantu; loving sisters, Frances (Inocente) Zurita, Eva Cantu, Cindy (Joe) Cespedes, and Patricia (Johnny) Rodriguez; and nephews and nieces, Jason Cespedes, Jeremy Cespedes, Jared Cespedes, Rachel Zurita, Daniel Zurita, Johnathan Powers, Brandon Powers, John Patrick Rodriguez, and Robert Rodriguez.

Visitation will begin Friday, November 9, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas and will continue form 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria, Port Isabel, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with cremation to follow in accordance to his wishes.
