Obituary of Arlin Taft Combs
Arlin Taft Combs,83, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Arlin Taft Combs was born in Cold Springs, Oklahoma in 1935. In 1955, he moved from Oklahoma to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas where he later opened his own company “Combs Financial Agency” which helped many businesses in the Harlingen Community.
He started his own church, Holy Bible Church Ministries, Inc to further spread the Gospel through giving away bibles to people in the Rio Grande Valley. Arlin loved the Lord wholeheartedly, he loved his family, and they loved him. They will all be in Heaven together again one day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Taft Combs and Dessie Combs.
Arlin is survived by his loving wife, Soledad “Sol” Combs; his children: Jay (Stephanie) Acosta, Ernesto (Magda) Acosta, and Paola (Albert) Aguemon; his siblings: Bill Combs, Leon Combs. Sandra Burrow, and Judy Scott; and grandchildren: Zoee Acosta, Joshua Acosta, Ernesto Acosta, Jr., and Arlin Acosta.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
