My sincere condolences go to the family of Margaret Levings Christensen. What a deep, personal loss for all of you. She was a very special person in my life, and I will never forget her as long as I have a memory. I was very lucky to have Peggy as my apartment mate for the 1965-66 school year in Brownsville, Texas. We were both so excited about embarking on this new career as teachers. If my memory serves me correctly, she taught 9th grade English at a school named Stell Junior High, located, along with Brownsville High School, right across from the Ancira Apartments where we lived. Peggy loved teaching from the word "go," proving immediately that her student teaching supervisor, who strangely and hurtfully gave her a "C" in student teaching, was way off base. I loved to hear her talk about her days on the job and to read the papers her students wrote. She loved her students and always wanted the best for them. She took a personal interest in each one that I'm they felt and appreciated.
As an apartment mate she was my favorite of all time....always so kind, caring and FUN! She was sweet, but at the same time, she was no pushover and could be very self-assertive if need be. She was easy to be around and "wore well." She gave me, a spoiled only child, who can easily feel "crowded," plenty of space, while still doing and sharing many things together. You know people are special when you haven't seen them in many years, but memories of them are still vivid. Peggy was one of those people. I have kept all her cards and letters. When I get them out and read them, Peggy will come alive again, just as she will remain alive in so many of the hearts she opened and touched in positive ways. A favorite Bible verse may apply here, "Blessed are they who mourn; for they shall be comforted."(MATTHEW 5:5:16.) I hope her family takes comfort in knowing in what high regard Peggy was held by so many people. We all mourn the loss of her wonderful earthly life.

Dear Carl Christensen and family,
Erv and I were saddened to hear of Margaret’s death and send our condolences to each of you who were so important to her. We are grateful that we had the opportunity to meet her and Carl and spend time with them at their Laguna Vista home, as well as exploring the ranch with Eric and his family. We felt truly welcome there and enjoy our memories of that time. Erv was impressed by Peggy’s intelligence and had been looking forward to future discussions with her when we visit again. I thought she had a spirited and generous demeanor … which is a trait I see in all of her siblings. Hopefully you will see her again in the sparkle of a grandchild’s upturned eye or the furrow of a thoughtful eyebrow. We are thinking of you as you grieve for her and celebrate her life.
With love,
Erwin and Emily Levings – South Range, Wisconsin.

The Levings Family is much larger than most people know, as they included many a neighborhood child that mixed and mingled amongst the meals, daily chores, vacations or learning lessons provided by Mr. & Mrs. Levings or an elder Levings son or daughter. Peggy was always kind and thoughtful to me and even brought me a souvenir back from her time in Peru. Peace of Christ to her immediate and extended family.
Love,
Randy Richards

To the Christensen Family, my deepest condolences to Mr. Christensen, Julia, Ben and Daniel. Mrs. Christensen was a wonderful woman, a terrific mother and a great teacher. She was the sweetest woman and allowed us to play and let Julia and Ben come play over at our house while growing up in Laguna Vista. She was also willing to drive us to the beach when we all needed to go. She will truly be missed. Sending my love to the Christensen family.
