Obituary of Consuelo P. Blanco

Consuelo P. Blanco, 96, of San Benito, Texas/Mission Viejo, CA, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 in Mission Viejo, CA.

She was an active member of the Roman Catholic faith.  Consuelo was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas.  In Los Angeles, California, she was a member of the Knights of Malta Auxiliary and ministered to the members of Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Glendale, CA. In 1936, she also was the second runner up in the Cinco de Mayo Princess Pageant. In 1949, she graduated from Corpus Christi Beauty School and owned her own hair salon.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Cortez, second husband, Lindon C. Flemister, and third husband, Raul V. Blanco; daughter, Baby Olga Cortez; parents, Serefino and Andrea Perez; siblings, Adela P. De Leon, Catarina Martinez, Maria P. Cortez, Severa Garza, Francisco Perez, Rodolfo Perez, and Jose Perez.

Consuelo is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Melinda Flemister and Elvia Monaco; a son-in-law, Antonio Monaco; and 4 grandchildren, Katherine Marie Katin, Erica Monaco, Desiree Monaco, and Deanna Monaco.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 228 Huisache Ave., Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
