SAN BENITO, TX - Ramon Garcia, Sr., 71, entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ramon was born on June 13, 1940, to Guadalupe Garcia and Guadalupe Reyna. He is preceded in death by his parents , two brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Alicia C. Garcia; his sons, Ramon (Yvette) Jr., Sergio (Michelle), Ernesto (Elizabeth), and his daughter, Alicia, all of San Benito, TX. He will be deeply missed by his beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Sarah, Daniel, Amanda, Rebekah, Emily, Isaac, Joseph, Abigail, and Christyn. He is also survived by his sisters, Maria de Jesus Torres of Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico and Maria Dolores Moore of California. He worked for the City of San Benito for 30 years; Ramon retired in May 2000. An avid musician, Ramon played the bajo-sexto and instilled in his children and grandchildren a genuine appreciation for music. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Templo Ebe-nezer Assembly de Dios, 996 Turner St., San Benito, TX. A Chapel service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel in San Benito. Interment will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
