Obituary of Pedro Chavez Jr.

Pedro Chavez Jr., 56, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Harlingen Medical Center.

It is with heavy hearts, open minds, complete faith and trust in our Lord that we accept Pete’s transition from his time with us to our father’s loving arms. Pedro Chavez Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Imelda Chavez; and their 6 children, Erika, Lionel, Gabriel, Jermain, Alexis, and Adrian Eric Del Rio; and his 92-year-old mother in law, Virginia Hernandez. He is also survived by his 4 children from a previous marriage, Pedro III, Marty, Pamela, and Markie Chavez; his siblings, Linda, Hortencia, Adolfo, Esperanza, Raul, Virginia, Maria, Juan, Jesus, Janie, Agustin, and Hector.

He was greeted in heaven by his parents, Pedro and Lucia Chavez; father in law, Eliborio Hernandez; and niece, Stephanie Miller.

Pedro Chavez, also known as “Pete”, will be greatly missed by his immediate extended family and neighbors. Pete was a very kind man and made a positive impact on those he met. He loved his family and adored his wife.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas. In accordance to his wishes cremation will follow.
