Obituary of Lidia Machuca Rodriguez

Lidia Machuca Rodriguez, 72, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at her residence.

Lidia was born in Matamoros, Tamps, Mexico. She enjoyed socializing with others, dancing, listening to music, playing chalupa, and fishing with her husband and grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as her friends at Circle of Friends Daycare who loved her like family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulogio S. Rodriguez; her parents, Consuelo Amaya and Juan Machuca; four children: Samuel, Lidia, Adolfo, and Benito Rodriguez; four brothers: Homero, Mario, Raymundo, and Arturo Machuca; and two grandsons: Alejandro Ramos and Samuel Rodriguez.

Lidia is survived by her children: Jaime (Carmen) Rodriguez, Maria Del Refugio (Enrique) Ramos, Daniel Rodriguez, Pedro Enrique (Laura) Rodriguez, Lidia (Abel Galvan) Rodriguez, and Lisa (David Sanchez Jr.) Rodriguez. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018  from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited on both evenings at 7:00 p.m.,  at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22,  2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery in Rio Hondo, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are: Abel Galvan, David Sanchez Jr., Jessie Guerrero, Adan Piña IV, Jaime Rodriguez Jr., and Enrique Ramos with honorary pallbearers Jaime Rodriguez Sr. and Pedro Enrique Rodriguez.
