Obituary of Yolanda Tijerina
Yolanda (Yoli) Gonzalez Tijerina was born in San Benito, Texas on March 12, 1951. She entered Heaven’s gates at the age of 67 on Friday, May 11, 2018.
A mother and homemaker, Yoli was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Yolanda was a devoted and loving mother who always opened her home to everyone. She was very proud of her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with them was important to her. Yoli was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor, her love of music, and was always the life of the party. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Francisco G. Soto and Felicitas Lucio Soto; her mother Maria Perez; and her daughter, Undine Silva. She is survived by her husband Walberto “Wally” Tijerina. She is also survived by her 6 children; Frank Soto, Jaime Soto, Cynthia Chavez, Rey (Crissy) Rodriguez, Lee (Chris) Rodriguez, and Luciano (Dalinda) Rodriguez. She had 19 grandchildren, Derek, Vanessa, & Dominique Soto, Melissa (Matthew) Chavez, Xavien Chavez, Alexandra, Ashley, & Crystal Alvarado; Kassandra Silva, Jovita Viveros, Kayla, Lily, & Gabriel Rodriguez, Victoria and Samantha Conley, Lupito and Rey Ortiz, Clarissa and Anthony Rodriguez, her great-grandchildren; Elijah Murillo, Ava Ortiz, and a great-grandchild on the way.
Yolanda is also survived by her siblings Francis M. Morales, Santiaga (Rick) Porter, Violeta (Alfredo) Fraustro, and Lauro (Debra) Perez Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas, with accordance to her wishes cremation to follow.
