Obituary of Librada Reyes De La Garza

Librada “Balla” Reyes De La Garza, 83, of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her resident.

Balla was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was the business owner and operator of Reyes Bakery, which she inherited from her father in 1984. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Julia Garza Reyes; three sisters: Maria Garza, Paula Lopez, and Eulalia Garcia; and three brothers: Miguel Reyes, Manuel Reyes, and Tomas Reyes, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Ciro De La Garza of Port Isabel; her daughter, Julia Rios Skipper; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Jordan Skipper, Jeremiah Nino, Arturo Orozco Jr., Jamahl Jee, Silvestre Rios Jr., Adrian Nino, Thakur Jee Jr., and Thomas Garcia. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Reynaldo Lopez, Noe Lopez, Jaime Garza, Silus Sheldon, Fernando Garza Jr., and the Biker Boys.
