Obituary of Guadalupe P. Hernandez

Guadalupe P. Hernandez, 80, a life-long resident of San Benito, Texas passed away with his family by his side on April 14, 2018.

Guadalupe spent his life as a retired man, hunting, fishing, and surrounded by family.  He was a passive and loving child of God.  His final days were spent surrounded by his family.  He lived a beautiful life, bringing joy and peacefulness to those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Lorenzo and Juanita Hernandez, brothers; Jose, (+)Cruz (Lupe) Hernandez, and sister; (+) Juanita (Luis) Gonzalez.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years; Virginia Beth, daughters; Florestella H. Cortez and Irma (Elias) Villarreal, son; Guadalupe Hernandez Jr., grandchildren; Samantha (Mathew) Gonzalez, Ashley and Daniel Cortez, and Theresa Hernandez, great grandchildren; Ryan Garcia and Maverick Gonzalez, brothers; Lorenzo (Martha) Hernandez and Jose L. (Rosa) Hernandez, and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and continue on Wednesday, April 18, 2018  from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at  2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas
