Obituary of Eliza Juarez Gould

Eliza Juarez Gould, 78, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Harlingen, Texas.

Mrs. Gould was a lifetime member of Rio Hondo. She was a staple in the community, having worked in the San Benito Bank for more than 40 years.  She touched many lives in the years she worked at the bank upon her retirement in 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. Juarez and Marcela R. Juarez; as well as one brother, Facundo Juarez.

Surviving Eliza is her husband, Fred Gonzalez: Children, Christy (Robert) Porras, David Cortez, Vernan (Stacey) Cortez and Martin Cortez; siblings: Lupana (Antonio) Anguiano, Maria (Nicanor) Vasquez, Juan (Ofelia) Juarez, Benito (Gloria) Juarez, Desiderio (Angelic) Juarez and Oralia (Isidro) Alvarado; grandchildren: Anthony Salazar, Rene Salazar, Robert Porras Jr., Samantha Phillips, Zachary Porras, Jacob Porras, Kassandra Porras, Katherine Porras, David Cortez III, Jasmine Cortez, Eliza Cortez, Robert Rubio, Samantha Cortez, Sydney Cortez, Taylor Cortez, Caleb Cortez and Kyra Cortez; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

A chapel service  will be held at  10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas with burial to follow at San Benito Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas
