Obituary of Gregorio Torres Contreras

Gregorio Torres,80, known to many as Borado, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beautiful family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  He was a long-time resident of El Ranchito, Texas.  Dedicated his life to his church, San Ignacio de Loyola, his family and his farming community.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Maria Luisa Torres, son; Rene Torres, parents; Andres Torres and Herlinda Contreras, sisters; Nicolasa, Trinidad, Carmela, and Irene, and brother; Jesus Torres.

He is survived by his children; Andres (Pueblito) Torres, Ernestina (Carlos) Quintanilla, Hermelinda (Julio III) Santana, Guadalupe (Rachel) Torres, Sara Torres and JR Jaramillo, and Ricardo (Deme) Torres, siblings; Expedito, Fausta, Clara, Diego, Seferina, and Guadalupe Torres, as well as 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at San Ignacio Catholic  Church with internment to follow at Torres Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers are; Carlos Quintanilla II, Rene Torres, Rolando Torres, Julio Santana IV, Ricardo Torres Jr., Andy Torres, Edward Rosenbaum, and Jason Santana, honorary pallbearers are; Ryan Guerra, Rodney Guerra, Dominic Garcia, and Ruben Garcia.
