Obituary of Federico Diaz Chavez

Federico Diaz Chavez, 86, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Eluterio Chavez and Maria Chavez; brothers: Juan Chavez and Idelfonso Chavez; and one sister, Guadalupe Chavez.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 64 years, Maria Luisa Chavez; 3 sons: Federico (Genevieve) Chavez, Javier (Maureen) Chavez, and Victor (Mary) Chavez; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as 2 surviving sisters; and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 705 South Longoria in Port Isabel, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, TX.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Fred Chavez, Javier Chavez, Victor Chavez, Brian Chavez and Jason Chavez.
