Obituary of Isabel R. Hinojosa

Isabel R. Hinojosa, 93, of Port Isabel, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in Harlingen, Texas.

Mrs. Hinojosa was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel.  She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and served in the  Guadalupanas as well as the cookie and bake club. She was also known as the cake lady in the Laguna Madre area baking cakes for weddings, quinceañeras, and birthdays.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Jose Q. Hinojosa, one son; Jose Hinojosa Jr., son-in-law; Pablo B. Villarreal, and parents; Tomas and Trinidad Lopez Rivera.

Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters; Anita Villarreal and Alicia (Omar) Calvillo, one brother; Martin Rivera, four sisters; Antonia Garza, Tomasa Salazar, Maria Rivera, and Gloria Rivera, 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic church with burial to follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
