Obituary of Rita S. Vela
Rita S. Vela, 102, of San Benito, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Harlingen, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ignacio Vela; one son, CSM Ruben Vela; and one daughter, Rita Vela.
Left to cherish her memories are her children: Maria (Martin) Garza, Victoria Greenbaum, Rosa Lopez, Ignacia V. Gonzalez, Leonor (Silverio) Lopez, Refugio (Tayde) Vela, and Juan (Dora) Vela; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., with rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
