Obituary of Rafael Vasquez

Rafael “Buffalo” Vazquez, 48, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Candido and Paula Reyes Vazquez; sister, Guadalupe Flores; one niece, Baby Estrella Vasquez; as well as his mother- in-law, Maria Luisa Garcia.

Rafael is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rosaura Zepeda Vasquez;  his children: Janie (Blas Alberto) Vasquez Quiroz, Rafael (Ashley Lopez) Vasquez Jr., Marc Anthony Vasquez and Stefanny (Robert Sanchez) Vasquez; three brothers: Candido (Bertha) Vasquez, George (Sandra) Vasquez, and  Ronnie (Lori) Moore; one sister, Sonia Garcia; step-mother, Juanita Moore; five grandchildren: Candido Alberto Quiroz, Austin Quiroz, Valerie Isabel Quiroz, Daniella Rubi Quiroz and Kayla Vasquez; as well as other family members.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Jorge Vasquez, Rafael Vasquez Jr., Candido Vasquez, Juan Antonio Reta, Leo Quintero,  Marc Anthony Vasquez and Cesar Quintero.
