Amparo G. Garza, 67 of Laguna Heights, passed away on Sunday on April 01, 2007 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. She was born in Matamoros, Tamp. Mexico on April 15, 1939. She is preceded in death by her son, Francisco Eleno Garza; Mother, Odilia Cantu Sanchez; Father, Pablo Sanchez; Uncle, Encarnacion Cantu; and Brother, Eugenio Sanchez. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Cosme Garza, Sr.; daughter, Norma (Jose A.) Ybarra of Brownsville; 2 sons, Cosme Eric (Letty) Garza of Port Isabel and Henry (Lulu) Garza of Brownsville; 4 granddaughters, Daisy (Tronell) Louis, Alexis R. Villarreal, Brandi C. Garza, and Codi R. Garza; 2 Grandsons, Cosme Eric Garza, Jr. and Frankie Garza; 2 Great Granddaughters, Bridgette S. Villarreal and Makayla S. Louis; and 1 Great Grandson, Jayson A. Garza; 3 sisters, Natalia (Vicente) Quezada, Maria (Roberto) Vela, and Guadalupe (Rodolfo) Torres; 3 Brothers, Juan (Teodora) Garza, Pedro (Ofira) Sanchez, and Servando (Palmira) Sanchez. A Holy Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Monday night 04/02/07 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 03, 2007 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel. Pallbearers will be Henry Garza, Cosme Eric Garza, Sr., Frankie Garza, Jose Antonio Ybarra, Servando Sanchez, and Tronell Louis. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cosme Eric Garza, Jr. Words of comfort may be sent to the Garza family at www.thomaegarza.com.
