Obituary of Daniel Hernandez
Daniel (Pichie) Hernandez, of Rio Hondo, Texas.
Born on December 15, 1959, to Ecio Gerardo Hernandez and Flora Lopez, Daniel Hernandez went to rest in the Lord’s peace on November 13, 2017.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Manuel and Guadalupe Lopez and Librado Hernandez Sr.
Remaining to share his memory are daughter Astin Nicole Morton of Hannibal, Missouri, brother Gerardo Hernandez (Irazema) of Brownsville, sisters Imelda Flores (Jesus) of Rio Hondo, Belinda Gonzalez (Ernesto) of Rio Hondo, granddaughter Josafena Lowe, and numerous relatives and close friends.
Daniel worked in the cotton gin circuit from here to Missouri and the Cameron County Drainage District #3. He also navigated the by-ways in a tug boat with R.G. Marine Transport out of Sugarland, Tx. He loved motorcycles, his jeep, and he enjoyed hanging around with his friend, Hoss Lozano. He will be missed by those who loved him and understood his ways. Pichie was 57.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Andres Flores, Jesus Flores, Juan Gutierrez, Librado Hernandez, Gerardo Hernandez, Hoss Lozano, Roy Ramirez and honorary pallbearer Michael Lozano.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rio Hondo City Cemetery.
