Obituary of Carmen Hollingsworth
Carmen Hollingsworth, 77, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2017 in Brownsville, Texas.
She grew up in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, Mexico with her three younger brothers. She married Harley Hollingsworth on January 8, 1966. She and her family moved to Laguna Vista, Texas in 1976 where she was active in the garden club, enjoyed ceramics and cooking. Carmen was a member and also taught catechism classes at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. She was also active in operating the family business. Carmen dedicated her life to caring for her son Louis and her husband Harley.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Harley Hollingsworth on September 23, 2008, parents; Diego and Inez Del Campo, and one brother; Juan Diego Del Campo.
Carmen is survived by four sons; Harley (Flor) Hollingsworth III, Louis Hollingsworth, Dan Hollingsworth, and Tom (Corina Simpson) Hollingsworth, one grandson; Harley Hollingsworth IV, two granddaughters; Ashley and Haley Hollingsworth, two brothers; Rafael and Gonzalo Del Campo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church located at 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Catholic Church with inurnment following at the Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
