Port Isabel, Texas: Nicolas Barrera, 56 of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on August 02, 2007 at La Hacienda Nursing Home in Harlingen. Mr. Barrera was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church of Port Isabel. He was a shrimper in the shrimping industry. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Jesus M. and Zolia Garcia Barrera; Grandson and Gavin T. Rudder II. He is survived by his Wife, Clara Pedraza Barrera of Port Isabel; 3 Sons: Pedro Luis Barrera, Nicolas Barrera Jr., and Frank Barrera; 7 Daughters: Zulema Barrera, Nicolasa Barrera, Gina Barrera, Vicky Barrera, Judy Delgado, Bobby Lee B. Lujan, and Rosa M. Barrera; 17 Grandchildren, 2 Sisters: Sarafina G. Montoya and Maria B. De La Garza; 6 Brothers, Juan J. Garza, Samuel Garza, Jesus G. Barrera, Rodolfo G. Barrera, Guadalupe G. Barrera, and Raul G. Barrera. Visitation will be held today Saturday August 04, 2007 from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue on Sunday August 05, 2007 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday August 06, 2007 Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
