Port Isabel, Texas- Lifelong Port Isabel resident, Flora Lilia Martinez, 44, entered into Eternal Rest with our Lord early Saturday, December 10, 2011. A graduate of Port Isabel High School, where she was a member of the Tarpon Band, Lilia was a constant companion to her mother, Josefina. She was always willing to lend a helping hand at Mexiquito Restaurant. Her fun loving personality and sense of humor was an endearing characteristic, which made her so well-loved by her nephews, family, and friends. Lilia will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and her two dogs- Chris and Crystal. She is preceded in death by her brother, Israel Martinez Jr.; her sister, Maria del Carmen Martinez; her grandmother, Flora Hernandez; her great-grandmother, Carmen Arredondo; her grandparents, Virginia and Guadalupe Martinez and her sister-in-law, Inez Cuevas Martinez. She is survived by her parents, Israel and Josefina Martinez; her sister, Leticia (Jeff) Keplinger; her brothers: Jose Martinez, Victor Martinez, and Leo (Diana) Martinez of Houston, Texas; her nephews: Victor Martinez Jr., Justin Keplinger, Jon Erik Martinez, Michael Keplinger, Manuel Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Joel Martinez, and Brett Martinez; her nieces, Christina and Letisha Martinez. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on S. 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Victor Martinez Jr., Justin Keplinger, Michael Keplinger, Anthony Martinez, Manuel Martinez, and Joseph Martinez; with Brett Martinez serving as an honorary pallbearer.
