Obituary of Delia V. Villafranco

Delia Villafranco, 87, was called to be with our Lord on the morning of July 10, 2017 surrounded and comforted by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Delia was born on October 21, 1929, in Olmito, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus (Chuy) Villafranco, her mother, Natividad Esquivel, her brother Gualberto Villarreal of Olmito, TX and her sister, Maria Elena Tobias of San Antonio, TX.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Marizel Villafranco (Isaac) Briones  and Olivia Villafranco (Luis)  Gomez both of San Benito, TX. Her sisters, Elida Contreras, Olga German, Francisca Salazar, Eugenia Johnson and her brother Andres Munoz. Nine grandchildren, Yvanna, Joanna, JJ, Christian, Marcos, Luis Angel, Emilia, Leonardo, Isaiah and two great grandchildren Hailey and Jovanna Joy.

Since a very young age Delia was known for her joyful spirit who was caring, loving and compassionate. In 1965 she married the love her of life, Chuy Villafranco. They began a life together in San Benito, TX and resided there until his passing in 1987. Delia will always be remembered as extremely devoted to her two daughters and their children.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 10:00 am to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home.

 Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with procession to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers will be JJ Garcia, Marcos Gutierrez, Luis Gomez, Luis Angel Gomez, Noe Gutierrez, and JoAnna Gutierrez.

A very heartfelt thank you to Noe Gutierrez. Noe was once a son in law but became so much more than a son, he helped care for my mother and for this I will be eternally Grateful.  Sincerely Olivia V. Gomez
