Obituary of Gregorio Z. Martinez

Gregorio Z. Martinez “El Payaso” of Port Isabel, TX, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 21,2017 at his residence.

Gregorio was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and member of Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church as well as a Shrimper, tugboat, crane operator and carpenter in the Laguna Madre area. He worked at Gordon’s Bait for many years as well as for the Port Isabel/San Benito Navigation District.  Gregorio loved to dance, listen to music, but he mostly loved to have family gatherings at his home.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Marcelina B. Martinez, daughters; Yvonne Aggi, Gregoria Ochoa, and Jessica Ramirez

Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters; Rebecca Martinez, Marisa Martinez, and Erica (Concepcion) Camarillo, 1 sister, 4 brothers, 10 grandchildren, 2  great grandchildren; and his companion Juanita Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m on Monday June 26, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Located at 705 S. Longoria st. in Port Isabel, Texas
