Obituary of Gilberto Galvan
Gilberto “Gil” Galvan, 53, of Port Isabel passed away on June 19, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
Gilberto was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas. He worked at Tarpon Seafood most of his life and was Captain on Bait Shrimping Boat in the Laguna Madre Area.
He is survived by his daughter; Claudia Garza: two sons; Gilberto Galvan and Jose Galvan: four grandchildren; Ashlee Garza, Alyssa Garza, Joel Garza and Joe Aiden Galvan: parents Juan Jose and Sara T. Galvan his four brothers; Jesus Galvan, Juan Perez, Benito Galvan and Juan Jose Galvan Jr., his sister Maria Teresa Muniz as well as several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 22, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located at 705 S. Longoria in Port Isabel, Texas with burial following at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Juan Jose Galvan Jr., Vicente Muniz, Reynaldo Muniz, Jesus Galvan Jr., Gilberto Galvan and Jose Galvan.
