John Paul Burnett, 17, of Port Isabel/Los Fresnos, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel, where he attended school. He was a loveable, kind, and outgoing teenager. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Joe and Maria Uresti; maternal great-grandparents: Saturnino and Juanita Sandoval. He is survived by his parents, Veronica Uresti and Paul Burnett; his sister, Christine Maria Burnett and his two brothers, Paul (Rosario) Burnett Jr. and Sean Paul Burnett; his future niece, MaKalyn Mia Burnett; paternal grandmother, Maria Burnett; maternal great-grandmother, Nicolasa Uresti, all of Port Isabel, Texas; and his girlfriend, April Rodriguez of Brownsville, Texas. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church located on 110 Port Road in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
