Obituary of Francisca Sanchez

Francisca Sanchez, 84, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas but lived most of her life in Port Isabel, Texas. She was a cofounder of Manuel’s Restaurant in Port Isabel and loved cooking and baking for all of her family. She loved and was loved by all her family including all her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was also a member of Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Sanchez and Petra Gomez; three brothers: Joaquin Sanchez, Lupe Sanchez, Chuy Sanchez; her sister-in-law, Monica Sanchez; and her son, Francisco Javier.

Surviving Francisca is her son, Manuel (Lorena) Barroso; her daughter, Yolanda Garza; her siblings: Juan Sanchez, Gilberto (Delia) Sanchez, Trinidad (Ruben) Bella, and Berta Perez; two sisters-in-law: Maria Sanchez and Blanca Sanchez; grandchildren: Letty (Juan) Reyna, Jose Barroso, Michael (Blanca) Barroso, Juanito Garza, Santos (Lila) Garza, Manny (Samantha) Garza, Frank (Terry) Barroso, Martha Navarro; and great-grandchildren: Eric, Melanie, Jason, Isaac, Kevin, Justin, Joseph, Kendahl, Manny Jr., Santos Jr., Adriana, Diego, Julie, Johnny, Aaron, Athena, Charlie, and Joel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and will continue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on 705 S. Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Michael Barroso, Jason Barroso, Frankie Barroso, Eric Reyna, Santos Garza, Juan Garza, Jr., Manuel Garza, and Aaron Garza.
