Obituary of Maria Conde

San Benito, Texas- Maria Gallegos Conde passed away on December 6, 2011 at the age of 95.
Maria was born on January 2, 1916 in Roma, Texas to Pablo and Paulita Gallegos. Mary, as she was known by her co-workers and friends, was a retired nurses' aide from Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital in San Benito, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Paulita Gallegos and her daughter, Norma Anzaldua.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 66 years, Lupe H. Conde; her children, Alicia (Guillermo) Salinas and Johnny (Tyra) Conde; and her son-in-law, Alonzo Anzaldua; her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito with Father Isaac Emeka Erondu officiating. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Guillermo Salinas, Alonzo Anzaldua, John Paul Conde, Christopher Nicolaus Conde, Cleo Longoria, and George Villarreal. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to her loving friends and caregivers, Yolanda Valencia and Rosa Maria Martinez ; and her caregivers at Amenity Hospice of San Benito and Odyssey Hospice for their loving, tender care given to our mother.
