Daniel E. Vogler, 74, resident of Harlingen, TX passed away Friday, January 20, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Werner Vogler and Edith Louise Yearian and his brother Larry Fincher.
Daniel is survived by his wife; Isabel and their Children Daniel Jr & wife Cindy, Dana & husband Edward Bryant, Step-Children Connie & husband Jeffrey Mitchell, Nicholas & wife Kristina Moran. 13 Grandchildren, & 8 great grandchildren, Daniel is also survived by Bothers Joe, Bob & wife Joyce. Sister Susan & husband David Hauptuet.
Daniel served proudly in the United States Marie Corps from 1963-1967 during the Vietnam War. During his time in service he served as a personal body guard, trained troops, put boots on the ground in Vietnam and won Gold in the All-Marine wrestling team.
During this time of personal growth Daniel gained a passion for fitness and service to his community. Daniel earned his Master’s in education with an emphasis in Health to pursue a career in teaching and coaching High School Athletics. Thus, to be known as Coach Vogler from that point forward. Coach Vogler taught in the Arkansas school system from 1976-1980 before moving to the Rio Grande Valley to coach at Raymondville, San Benito and finally retiring as Head JV Coach at Harlingen High School South in 1998.
Coach Vogler dedicated his life to others, inspiring his family, students, and community to grow and give back to one another.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 12:00pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary starting at 7:00 pm. At Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Chapel Service will be Tuesday January 24, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. And Military Honors will be Conducted by the VFW Post # 2035 of Brownsville, Texas.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are his Son's Daniel JR, Nicholas, and Grandson Beowulf, Juan Garza, Ronny Martinez and Noe Zamarano
