Juan Bernardo Martinez, 65, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Martinez and Antonia Valdez Martinez; one grandchild, Emmanuel Martinez; and three brothers: Santana Martinez, Silvestre Martinez, and Juan Martinez. Juan is survived by his wife, San Juana Martinez; his children: Marisela (Oscar) Chapa, Bernardo (Sixta) Martinez, Eduardo Martinez, Antonia (Jose) Bando, Crystal (Marco Antonio) Hernandez, and Stacey (Ramiro) Guajardo; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; as well as several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Maranatha Worship Center, 401 E. Madison in Port Isabel, Texas. Burial will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery in Port Isabel, Texas.
