Tomas C. Cantu, 66, of Laguna Vista, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Cantu; daughter, Patricia Cantu; four sisters: Cecilia Zamora, Lorrie Cantu, Magdalena Vasquez, and Linda Ray Cantu; and one brother, Jose Cantu. Tomas is survived by his wife, Florencia Cantu; two daughters, Vanessa (Awarddo Jimenez) Cantu and Juanita (Juan Hernandez) Guadalupe Cantu; one son, Carlos Ivan Perez; four grandchildren: Kimberly Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, Melanie Hernandez and Alexandra Hernandez; his mother, Veronica Cantu; and siblings: Maria Del Rosario Salazar, Veronica Malvar, Carlos Cantu Jr., Jesus Cantu, Andy Cantu, Jose Guadalupe Cantu, Robert Cantu, Santiago Cantu, Felipe Cantu, and Federico Cantu. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
