San Benito - Marcos S. Yzaguirre, 96, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mama Marcos, as she was lovingly called by her family, was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Francisco R. Yzaguirre, and sons Fernando, Refugio and Anastacio Yzaguirre. Mama Marcos is survived by two sons Leonardo (Ninfa) Yzaguirre of San Benito and Rolando (Patricia) Yzaguirre of Laredo; and five daughters: Maria Ortiz of Wauchula, FL, Dominga (jose) Padilla, Frances Gomez, Concepcion (Roberto) Ybarra all of San Benito and Janie (Sigifredo) Infante of Lyford. Mama Marcos loved her family deeply and every time a child was born into the family there was great rejoicing. She leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 91 great grand children, 31 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. A prayer service was held on Wednesday at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Sam Saldivar of Raymondville 1st Assembly of God. Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Leonardo Yzaguirre, Jr., Johnny Yzaguirre, Frank Yzaguirre, Gerald Gomez, Eddie Gomez and Joe Padilla, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sandi Jo Funk Hospice.
