Roberto C. Alfaro, 65, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Elma Hilda Alfaro; and parents, Genaro Alfaro Jr. and Ciria Alfaro. Left to cherish Roberto’s memory is his daughter, Melinda Alfaro; his Chihuahua, Alexis Marie Alfaro; his siblings: Antonia Florez, Josefina (Jesus) Herrera, Guadalupe (Juan) Cortez, Olga (Manuel) Ortega, Corina (Noe Saldana) Alfaro, Hector (Maria) Alfaro; one sister-in-law, Estela Moore; and three brothers-in-law: Jesus Guajardo Jr., Ramiro Guajardo, and Ernesto Guajardo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jesus Guajardo III, Israel Ortega, Manuel Ortega, Genaro Ortega, Lionel Sanchez, and Marco Alfaro.
