Antonia Martinez, 74, of Rio Hondo, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Mrs. Antonia Martinez was born to Jose Maria and Virginia Ramos. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jose Maria and Virginia Ramos, two sisters; Marcelita Atkinson and Louis R. Aguilar, one brother; Guadalupe Ramos. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 47 years Manuel C. Martinez, six daughters; Margie (Rick) Guajardo, Maricela (Edmundo) Martinez, Marivel (Dennis) Martinez, Marcela (Victor) Alcantara, Mikki (Brenda) Martinez and Maryann (Belia) Martinez. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter as well as two sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery.
