Francisca “Frances” Y. Gomez entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. She was born August 23, 1940 in Los Indios, Texas and lived in San Benito all her adult life. Frances leaves behind for her family the legacy of her great love for the Lord Jesus. Her favorite thing to do each morning was to sit down with a cup of coffee, open her bible and immerse herself in the Word of God. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos M. Gomez; parents Francisco and Marcos Yzaguirre; brothers: Leonardo (Ninfa) Yzaguirre, Anastacio (Aurelia +) Yzaguurre, Fernando and Refugio Yzaguirre. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Flora (Santos) Reyna; sons: Carlos (Adelaida) Gomez, Eduardo (Linda Cosme) Gomez, and Gerardo (Cindy) Gomez; as well as ten grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her siblings: Maria Ortiz, Dominga Padilla, Concha Ybarra, Janey (Sigifredo) Infante and Rolando (Patricia) Yzaguirre. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
