Rio Hondo, TX- Seledonio (Sal) Sauceda, 60, entered the Lord's Kingdom, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a lifetime resident of Rio Hondo, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed coaching little league football and basketball. He continued his love of sports as an avid Rio Hondo Bobcat fan, and followed the team faithfully. He also had a love for music and played in several local Tejano bands. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Sauceda, and mother, Josefina (Guajardo) De Los Santos. He leaves behind his loving wife of forty years, Teresita Sauceda; his children: Randy (Michelle) Sauceda and Celyna (Ace) Sauceda of Harlingen, Texas; and Victor (Nelda) Sauceda and Jason Sauceda of Rio Hondo, TX; his grandchildren: Jalyssa and Jilliana Sauceda of Rio Hondo; Nathan Sauceda, Deanne Mares, Daniel Mares, Kadie Sauceda, Richard Rivera, and Theresa Rivera of Harlingen; his siblings: Sara Campa of San Jose, California; Connie (Evodio) Jacuinde of Hayward, California; Tomas (Connie) Sauceda, Israel Sauceda, Maria E. Sauceda, Omero Sauceda, Ismael Sauceda, and Esmeralda Sauceda, all of Rio Hondo, Texas; and Trinidad (Janie) Sauceda of San Francisco, California; his brother-in-law, Victor (Ana) Ortega of Harlingen and sister-in-law Lusila "Lusi" Ortega of Rio Hondo. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Celebration of his Life at 7:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
