Hilda R. Martinez, born October 22, 1965, in Port Isabel, Texas, passed away in Dallas, Texas on August 24, 2016. Hilda is a graduate of Port Isabel High School Class of 1984. She was a past member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas, and current member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, Celso Martinez, Jr. and Magdalena Martinez; two brothers Salvador Martinez and Arnulfo Martinez. Hilda is survived by her children Juan Antonio Lopez and Connie (Saul) Alonzo; one granddaughter Estrella Marie Alonzo; 12 brothers and sisters: Cresensio (Marina) Martinez, Constancio (Lucila) Martinez, Orlando Martinez, Rodolfo (Minerva) Martinez, Celso III (Rosa) Martinez, Hector (Sylvia) Martinez, Cornelio (Asusena) Martinez, Irma (Manuel) Rivera, Elvia (Patricio) Torres, Nina (Alberto) Alvarado, Magdalena Martinez and Elsa (Federico) Alvarez Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Tx. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
