Otilia Ortega Moncevaiz, 58, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at her residence. She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pantaleon Moncevaiz and Josefa O. Moncevaiz; and one sister, Rosa Vasquez. She is survived by five sisters: Zulema Sandoval, Paula Rosales, Hermelinda Aranda, Maria Magdalena (Elias) Silva, and Elida (Charles) Welch; and three brothers: Jesus (Fina) Moncevaiz, Miguel Moncevaiz, and Emilio (Abigail) Moncevaiz. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitation will continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation will follow in accordance with her wishes.
